Attend a birthing class or skip?

Did any of you attend a birthing class?
Did you find it helpful? Necessary?

I didn't with any of mine. 2 naturals and 1 epidural. Your body knows what to do. Women have been giving birth for a LONG TIME without classes.

My mom told me the class is actually more beneficial to the father because it prepares him more for watching the mother go through the pain and knowing what to expect. She said it can be hard on a man to watch his wife in pain and not be able to help, so the class helped with that

Yes! Super helpful! Lots of positivity, support and a place for me and daddy to connect :) our favorites was the positioning of his hands on my hips to add pressure during my contractions! Saved my life! They gave us essential oils, medicine bag, relaxation cd, lots of info and homies :) xoxo

I did it for my first but it was more of a "hospital protocal" class. They don't talk about breathing techniques. Just what to expect in certain situations or emergencies during birth. We also got a tour. Well worth it just for the tour.

I enjoyed birthing class! Hubby and I went together and it helped us feel better prepared. We also made some friends! No negatives!

I skipped it my first pregnancy, but I have been around babies and did a lot of research on my own. I say, your body knows what to do when it's time to do it! :-)

I did with this pregnancy and it helped to be able to ask questions, understand more about the Labornprocess and how to identify when I'm in labor, but I think the big thing was getting correct information on nutrition and excercise and the relaxing techniques they taught. Mine was a Bradley method so it was focused on preparing for a natural birth, but I think any class where you get more info is always good

I took a hospital tour and then started to watch a class on youtube, but didn't get to finish the series because my son came the day after I watched the first part. It seemed like it was going to be very helpful. If you'd like it was called prenatal class by the channel Maternity Care Midwives and it's 3 parts.
