My laboring story! (Sorry it's so long)

Corinne
My birth story:
I was exactly 39 weeks on Friday. Thursday night before my husband went to work we had sex. I went to bed and 2 hours later at 11:00 pm I woke up having contractions. These felt like menstural cramps but nothing I couldn't handle. I stared to time them and they were 4 minutes apart for 30 minutes. Then they became two minutes apart lasting over a minute each for an hour. Finally, they were getting closer but not stronger and j didn't know what to do. I felt a little nauseous so I called my mom to see what she would do since my husband was at work. I decided to go ahead and go in. I called my husband to let him know, but I didn't want him taking off work if it was fade labor so he continued working. I got to the hospital at 1:30 am and I was a whopping 1 cm. They decided to keep me until morning to see if I progressed. The morning came and I was 39 weeks. The doctor came in and checked me at 6:00 am and I was now 4 cm and told I was having a baby today! She told me that for being 4cm with as strong as contractions I was having that I was doing incredible and most girls would be screaming. At 7:30 I was now 5cm and the pain was getting stronger, the doctor came in and told me that all the aniseiologist would be in surgery all morning so if I wanted an epidural I would have to decide right then and there. While the pain was still tolerable I did know how bad it would get and didn't want to be out of luck later so I got the epidural. I quickly progressed to 9cm by 9:00am where my water was broke. I labored down a bit until 11:30 then it was time to push. I had pushed for two hole hours! It was by far the worst and most exhausting part but so worth it to be able to hold my little girl. Avery was born at 1:37 pm at 39weeks exactly weighing 6lb 0oz and 19.5 in long. One ironic thing about my labor story is that the day of my labor was the last day of my brother in laws OB clinical rotation so he got to experience the laboring process of his niece (all except the pushing and dilation checking part) (:
