Baby Kiira Karoliina was a little bit late (41+6), but when she wanted out, she meant business!

At 41+5 I had a membrane sweep early in the morning. At 5 am, my water broke movie style - a huge gush that left a trail when I ran to the toilet.

We called the hospital to check in, and they recommended me to labor for a bit at home as I'd be more comfortable, but hubs was having none of it and we were at the hospital at 6:20 doing the paperwork. Midwife was strapping the baby's heart rate monitor when I told her I was getting the "I need to poop" feeling. She checked on me and I was already 8 cms. She was a bit shocked and said I looked a bit too cool for 8 cms as we rushed to the delivery room. Then the contractions really started to feel painful. I was having the shakes and she told me that whenever I felt like it, to push. After 4 pushes with hubs coaching me, she was out! We were floored and it was a proper cry fest. She joined our world last week on April 15 at 7:35 am ❤
