Need Advice
Hi Moms -
If any of you read my most recent past post you will know that things have been tough lately. Long story short I was recently fired from my last position at just over 6 months pregnant without any reason or notice. I do believe that this was completely unjustified and as upset as I was over it I have chosen to move beyond it and pursue a recent offer I was given.
It turns out this was all a blessing in disguise and worked out for the best for myself and my family. We are expecting our first in August and my new position offers full time, benefits, predictable hours and consistent pay as opposed to my last job that did not provide any of those things.
My question is this - I am 24 weeks as of this past Thursday and was hired under the agreement that there is a 90 day probationary period. I began work today which would make my 90 day probation period over on July 23. I am due August 11 and plan on working up until as long as I can before I deliver. I have not yet told my new employer about my pregnancy upon being hired out of fear that I would not get the job. (Before anyone says anything I know that it is illegal to not offer a position to someone just because they are pregnant but let's be serious). I'm not really showing yet, only slightly and its mostly only obvious to people that know I am pregnant. How long do you think is the appropriate amount of time to wait before I tell them? I don't want to wait too long and make them think I am being deceitful by not telling them, yet I am a little afraid to tell them right away because I'm scared they would rather not continue training for any reason they could give me out of fear of potentially wasting their time. I finally found what seems to be a perfect fit job wise and plan on going back after the baby is born so I'm looking for help; how long should I wait before I disclose my pregnancy to them?
Thanks in advance!!
