depo shot ??!

Is it normal not to get your period for a few months while on the depo? Can you get pregnant if on depo and haven't gotten your period??

When i was on the depo shot a couple years back, i never had a period, it made me gain 60 lbs and i got off that stuff. I feel personally that the depo shot is horrible.

Everyone reacts to different birth control differently. I was using depo for 6 years straight with my fiancé, as our only form of protection. We never had any pregnancy scares, and I didn't gain any weight from it. I also never spotted or got a cycle, so I loved it. The only reason I got off of it is because in 6 months we are planning to start TTC, and my OBGYN advised that after being on depo for so long it takes a good amount of time to fully work out of your system.

Talk to your OBGYN and see what they say. They might recommend something different or ask you to stick with depo a while longer to give your body a chance to adjust.
