Mommies doing cloth diapers!?

Did you automatically start your baby off in them as newborns? Or started with disposables then switch to cloth? Ftm and I plan on completely using them but I don't even know what to buy for them or washing or anything lol 😅

Unless you buy newborn sized cloth diapers, the one sized diapers probably aren't going to fit your baby right away. Most say they fit 8-35 pounds, but not really.

I am having to weight... My baby was small so my diapers don't quite fit yet...but I would use disposables the first few weeks to make sure their NB poo doesn't stain...the first few days of poo ate black, sticky, etc.

Honestly mecconium never bothered my cloth diapers. Just make sure you have a good wash routine. I reccomend joining the Facebook group "fluff, love & cd science" they will help you. And join another group and ask about mecconium sticking to the diaper. 95% of the people will tell you it's just like breast milk and doesn't even need to be washed out to be washed.

I don't because of the meconuim poo.. it's like tar  and sucks to get out of the diapers and liners..

It's easier to wait until their menconium poops are gone. It doesn't wash out of the diapers very easily. It only last the first day or two and usually the pack of diapers you use/get at the hospital is enough to get them through that time.

My sons meconium was gone when we left the hospital and we only stayed one night. This baby I'll be doing cloth as soon as we get home.

I switched dd when she was a few months old because I got tired of buying disposables.  This baby will only have disposables until the newborn nasty poos are over.  Then he will be cloth.

I'm also a FTM and am wanting to use cloth nappies from the start. A couple of friends have years of experience so I'll be seeking their advice! It'll be interesting to hear from mums on here too
