Any Educators in MA?

Hi! So I have my BS in Psychology. I have been working with children with autism in a school setting for almost a year and love it. I want to pursue my masters in Special Education, but all schools I look at say I need to have a license already. Does that mean I have to go back for my bachelors in Ed?

I think that just means you need to pass the MTEL? Not positive...I have my MSW/LCSW from Simmons in Boston. I don't know much about a MA in Special Ed, but that's my guess.

You could find a masters of art in teaching degree program.  Its for people who want to teach but have a bachelors degree in sonething other than education.

Thanks ladies. I know I have to take the GRE first so that's my first step in going about it. I've been out of college for a year and miss going to school!

No it means that you need a license. I would email the dese in Malden or email them. Ask them how you would go about getting your school psychologist license. I'm thinking you would have to through a masters program.
