Breast shields?

How did you know if you needed a bigger size breast shields? 
Im starting to be ebf now and my nipples having been sore. I tried the L seemed to be better but the sides still touch and I'm worried about wasting money on the wrong size

Go to maymom.com and download the nipple caliper. It's a tool to measure the size of your nipple and it will tell you what size shield you need.

For me I used what size was most comfortable and yielded the most milk. It's trial and error

I'd go see an IBCLC. You don't want to use the shields unless you need to. They can mess up your latch.
