Throwing own shower?

Any ideas on how to go about this? I don't have any close friends that would host, but several who would come.

I am doing the same thing. I don't have any family in state and no really close friends but I don't see anything wrong with celebrating baby! I know I have some friends who will attend and again it's more to celebrate, especially since I have two girls and am finally getting my boy ;). Good luck !

I did this with my first. Long story short I did my own so there would be no fighting or drama between my family and hubby's family. Me and my husband planned it and paid for it and invited friends and family. I live in the south so some people thought it was weird but it worked fine for us. We also did it more so to celebrate a new baby and my pregnancy than for gifts because most of our friends/family couldn't financially get us anything anyways. Good luck!!
