Breast feeding?

Question

I'm 6 weeks pregnant so I have a ways to go, BUT I'm wondering everyone's thoughts and opinions on breastfeeding? I feel as though I'd want to do that atleast for a little while, but what is everyone's experiences or thoughts? I'm just really curious!

I breastfeed my daughter for almost 2 years. It was the best thing I've ever done in my opinion. Not only did I save us a lot of money, but I was able to really have such a great bonding experience with my daughter. The one thing I will caution you on, is sometimes breastfed babies are hard to wean. My daughter wouldn't take a bottle at all so my husband was never able to help with feeding her.

Breastmilk is the best thing a baby can get. It will be uncomfortable at first and maybe a little painful but it does get better and easier. And I'll add ITS FREEEEEE!!!! I breastfed my first for about 3 months in a lot of pain. Now that he's almost 5 and I've had more experience talking to other mothers, I've come to realize that he was/is tongue tied and has a slight lip tie. Those cause a LOT of pain. At the time, I was a 1st time mom and didn't know any better. My pediatrician didn't think there was anything wrong and the "latch looked good" but it didn't FEEL right. So with my second baby, I was determined. And we are still breastfeeding (he's 22 months). Just be your own advocate. If something doesn't feel right, seek out help. If the dr dismisses you, go see a lactation consultant. Also, LC's should be available to you within the first hours of birth to help you with latch and everything.

My youngest is almost 11 months and is self weening right now. Just nurses around 4pm and again in the middle of the night/early morning. I was sad about it but now that i am expecting again- still in shock over it- i am ok with it.

I'm actually still breastfeeding my youngest who is 18 months. I think every mama should at least give it a try. There are so many wonderful benefits to breastfeeding :)

I breastfed at first because I was to lazy to get up and make bottles. It felt unnecessary to get up and do all that, rather then just pull your shirt down. It was easy with my first, my second we struggled for awhile. Made it to a year, they self weaned. Plus I hate the smell of formula, but I don't down anyone who chooses either way as long as you are feeding your baby!!

Breastfeeding is good for the baby, I think I'm gonna breastfeed my baby as long as it doesn't hurt much lol because I have one friend she was suffering her boobs hurt a lot when she breastfeed her baby.
