Not the labor I expected 😟 Long story
Being that I' ve had 4 children already and was pregnant with my 5th I never expected a complicated labor. So my water broke at home 05/03 @ around 11:30(36 weeks 5 days) I was absolutely fine, my labor was progressing very slow and I began to have chills. I had my epidural around 1:30am. Well my blood pressure began to drop and baby's heart was not all over the place like they said it should be. They gave me a narcotic that was supposed to relieve pain and relax me because I was shivering so much and again, my blood pressure and baby's began to drop so they came in and they said they were going to does me with epinephrine to raise it up. Before they did that I asked if the two drugs would would contradict each other and cause any trouble... They said no. Well my blood pressure went up so I thought it was going great but then I apparently had a contraction that was lasting a very long time, it wasn't helping the babies heart or my blood pressure and I ended up passing out and they had to call a code on the baby and I because of that and my blood pressure going down to 65/35 and her heart rate went down to 13. I developed a fever of 101.4 (which consequently lead to her being born with a fever of 104.) During the moment when I blacked out my husband aaid they were doing a bunch of things to me, turning, sticking things up my vagina and I ended up finally coming back and so did baby's heartbeat. They also gave me breathine to stall my contractions since baby wasn't tolerating labor. At around 9 am 05/04 my dr came to see me I was at 5 cm(which I was stuck at since around 5 am so they started pitocin & I had her at 11:23am. Her apgar score was 9/9, she was 6lbs 5 oz and 19.75 inches. However, she has to be NICU for a couple of days because of all that and I can't even go in there until 11:30 am tomorrow 05/05 due to needing to be fever free for 24 hours and I haven't seen her since birth. To top it off I did have a tubal at 1:00 PM and my belly button is sore and I'm just overall sad I can't hold my baby but thankfully my husband is the able to go in and take care of her, and feed her while I just stay in my room😪 but here she is little Olivia Violet 💖
