Vitex and levothyroxine

I just wanted to post a little warning for people that take thyroid meds and add vitex, could cause you to be hyperthyroid. I have no thyroid due to thyroid cancer and am kept pretty suppressed already. I was taking vitex to try to regulate my period and noticed an increase in heart rate. I could feel my pulse in my neck and I was gagging. I stopped taking it and went to normal. It is very hard on your heart to be hyperthyroid. I read a couple things on the internet indicating people that needed less thyroid hormone on vitex. I learned my lesson and am not going to mess with my pituitary and hormones again. I don't need further endocrine problems. Be careful with herbs and prescription meds
