Bipolar spouse?

Anyone else dealing with a bipolar spouse? Don't know how to deal with his constant yelling at our child. He's doing damage when he doesn't mean to.

My husband deals with a bipolar spouse. He does also have to fight with me (only sometimes) to make sure I take my meds every day. I know what you mean that after taking them for a while it feels like we don't need them anymore (because they're working), but as soon as I stop, my life is a mess. Your husband just needs to realize that bipolar disorder is for life. It's not like depression, which can sometimes be treated and then goes away. Mood stabilizers are usually for life. 
Have you talked to him about the damage he's doing to your child when he yells? If my husband told me that I was doing something that I didn't realize to harm my child because I wasn't taking my pills, I would most certainly want to take my pills if only to avoid hurting my child.

My dr thought I was bipolar for a bit.. But just turns out I have borderline personality and not both.

It's not cool if he's taking it out on the kids, therapy and medication will work wonders!

Not to sound mean, but is he on any meds? My hubs isn't bipolar but has a severe anxiety disorder and was the same with everyone around him. One day he was so frustrated at something he ended up putting his fist through our laptop then our solid oak dining table...the next day I made him go seek help and meds (after getting his hand x-rayed). And before someone says anything, no he's never hit us, I get asked that a lot when I tell the short story. But from then on he's been so much better with anxiety attacks, maybe one every 6-9 months.
