How long did you wait?

Okay, okay, I know we're supposed to wait till 12 weeks but we just took a test today, first baby, first grand baby, everyone knew we started trying a few months ago and asks constantly. Tomorrow is Mother's Day, and I want to scream it at the top of my lungs and tell everyone who will listen. I cannot keep a secret to save my life and I'm not sure I can hold out! What did you all do?!

I am 6w3d and it's the first grandbaby for my parents and we are telling my mom tomorrow! It doesn't matter when u tell people. If u tell them early and something awful happens you have a support.

Celebrate- scream it to the world!!! Good news should be shared! The truth is 12 weeks or not, it doesn't matter. If you tell or not it won't impact the outcome of the pregnancy. We were pregnant with twins, wanted to wait to tell but when we lost one at about six weeks we decided to tell. We wanted the support of our families and friends. Everyone was so supportive! I say tell- on Mother's Day- perfect!

We've had 5 losses, one as late as 34 weeks, so we know that there's no "safe" time to wait. We want to celebrate while we can, and if something happens, we can then turn to our friends and family for understanding comfort and care without an awkward explanation.

All of our family has known since I got it confirmed by the doctors at 5/6 weeks still haven't told extended family or friends for the most part and 11 weeks today plan on announcing next weekend. But really it's all up to you when you tell anyone/ everyone if you feel that need to tell them tell because of something does happen then you have all that love and support surrounding you.

We told parents at 10 weeks and everyone else after the gender scan at about 18 weeks.

We told family at about 5 weeks but unfortunately a family member told her friend who told my work!! It wasn't too much of a problem it just robbed me of telling work colleagues myself but we still had the FB announcement after our first scan at 13+5 weeks to tell people who didn't know ☺

I waited to announce it publicly until I was 9w5d, but told family immediately.
