Low Testosterone

My husband was just diagnosed with low testosterone so the doc prescribed him a topical treatment. But I was reading the information and did some research, and found out it can destroy sperm count. Neither one of us have had a full fertility check up because it's only been 6 months of TTC so we don't know if there are other issues. For now, are there any TTC-safe low T treatments he can take in the meantime?
