pump yet?" /> I'm 31w4d and my breasts are full and leaking. Should I pump or continue to let my husband drain them?

Actually any sort of nipple stimulation can send you into labor. Don't have your husband drain them and don't pump. Just use nursing pads until closer to your due date. My first pregnancy I would wake at night and the whole front of my shirt would be soaked and my doc said leave it alone . Ask yours to be sure .

Have husband drain them? Has he been messing with them? If so, this is probably the reason why they are engirged and painful. You have to be careful not to express the milk on purpose, or else you will trick your body into making more. If he has been "draining" them or sucking on them, you need to talk to your doctor and make sure you will still produce colostrum when your baby arrives.

I've read and been told that pumping or manual expression of milk can induce labor so I would be very careful or discontinue that.. Of course everyone is always told different advice but I would talk to your doctor asap. :)

Don't pump, it could cause your uterus to begin contacting, which could lead to preterm labor (or so I've read). Instead, use your hands to express a little milk, just enough to relieve pressure. You can also try putting a cold cabbage leaf on each breast, but only for a minute or two.

I used cabbage to dry myself up when I was ready to quit breast feeding. Within 10-15, my milk supply was virtually gone.

The book i am reading said to hand express about 2 tsp of colostrum at 32 weeks and freeze it.
