Raising our white flag! Our 5 year journey...

Laura • Unexplained infertility. Both 32. TTC 5 years. July 16` IVF w/ICSI. Aug FET #1 BFN / Sept FET #2 BFP!
Tomorrow is our consultation with our third RE. Yep, third.
Back track five years ago my husband and I started TTC. Tried for two years on our own and never a BFP. We read countless forums and was sure clomid or Femara would do the trick. Not quite.
I went to RMA in PA and met with Dr. Gocial. He ran blood work and found nothing out of the norm. 30 years old, 28 day cycle, ovulate on CD 14 every month. DH semen analysis all normal. I had a HSG done - normal. I responded to Femara, son we tried just medicated cycles for 3 months. And then we started Femara + IUI. We had one attempt at IUI (unsuccessful), and the rest were canceled cycles. Unfortunately our Doctor timed ovulation wrong so we gave up on him and left RMA. It was a waste of time and money if he kept missing ovulation.
Tried fertility acupuncture for 4 months - no success.
Decided to try the cream of the crop in our area: Main Line Fertility with Dr. Orris. Again, he ran all blood work and semen analysis - all normal. I had a hysteroscopy and endo biopsy (hurt so so bad!!!) - all normal again! We tried Clomid for 3 months. For some reason our Doctor was adamant on not trying IUI. It's our fault for not pushing it further but we figured he knew best. He did push for IVF.
So here's the thing, at this point we realize we are catagorized as unexplained infertility. We've done almost all the tests, and grateful we have no obvious issues. But still - what the heck? Why is there no answer to why we aren't getting pregnant? So we didn't feel like IVF had to be our only option. Plus it's expensive as heck! Our insurance covers the bare minimum (blood work and ultrasounds) We gave up again and took a break. Went back to TTC on our own.
Fast forward to this month, we decided to go back to RMA with a new doctor. This RE is our last and final stop. We're going to fully give IUI a solid 3 tries and if that doesn't work, we're moving on to IVF. RMA gave us a breakdown for cost of IVF and we're prepared.
If you've read this far, thank you. We've been on this journey all on our own. Family and friends assume we're just enjoying married life. But it's been very depressing over the past five years seeing loved ones get pregnant and then getting pregnant again.
I know I'm new to Glow but I'm no stranger to TTC boards. I hope that this new and hopefully last chapter of TTC will have a happy ending for us.
If you have any questions about the clinics I went to please feel free to ask!
