How long does a miscarriage take?

Hi ladies. Tuesday (4 days ago today) I started bleeding and cramping heavily. I went to the ER and I saw my baby at 6 weeks 2 days with a beating heart, but today my HCG levels came back and they are getting lower and lower, so my doctor informed me I'm miscarrying. My bleeding is getting worse and I'm still cramping. My question is, knowing my baby was alive and well only a few days ago, how long will this entire process take? How long will I bleed? I'm supposed to schedule an ultrasound in a week to confirm its all passed I guess, but I just don't know what to expect. Can anyone lend some insight?

Sorry for your loss ♡ my last MC I bled for 13 days. I had about 5 days of intense cramps and bleeding and then it was just spotting for the remainder.

First off I am so sorry for your loss 💔💔💔💔I miscarried back in October of 2015. I started spotting and 2 days later was at the doctors office. Dr confirmed I was miscarrying and I chose to do it naturally (without meds or a D&c) but had to go back in a week to see if I had passed everything. When I went back a week later I had started bleeding like a light period,but I had not passed the baby yet and had to have medicine to insert into my vagina for two nights to move the process along to avoid a D&C. That was the worst bleeding for 4 days. It was a pad full almost every 1.5-2 hours that had to be changed and I cramped like crazy. 5-6 days after starting the medicine he bleeding let up to a medium period which lasted for another 2+weeks. After that it turned into a light period to spotting. I bled for almost 34 days total from beginning to end before everything was over and done with...

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I was in the same boat a few years ago. Saw my baby at 6 weeks 7 days with a heartbeat and that night had extreme cramping and heavy bleeding. Went in the next day and she confirmed it was a miscarriage. Said to come back in a week to check to see if the baby passed on its own but mine didn't so she suggested a d&c and I had it done a few days later. I had a natural miscarriage once and it took about a week or so. I hope yours passes naturally! I'm so sorry!
