Who comes first?

Now that I'm pregnant I've seen a different side of me and my husband and realized how much more important my baby is. I love my husband but I've come to realize that if he was to mess up or we just tell apart I would be ok and stay strong because of my baby boy. So to me it's my kids, husband, and family/siblings. Of course depending on the situation. But my kids first for sure

My kids mean the world to me and I try to give them the best of everything. But my husband comes first. My kids will grow up one day and have a family of their own and I want them to put their husband/wife first. A healthy marriage is the best thing you can do for your children. If you put your child before your SO it will eventually take a toll on your marriage. Obviously, there are situations your children come first- like abusive relationships, etc. However, in a normal marriage your spouse should always come first, after all you two were there before the kids and will only have each other when they're grown.

None of those. I come first. If I don't take care of me and my needs and make sure I'm sane enough to function (hahhaa) I can't be the best I can be for my kids and husband. If I'm cranky it gets taken out on the ones closest to you which is them. During the day after me it's my kids who come before my husband. He's an adult. His mom raised him and he can do for himself my kids though need help and to be taught things.

I don't inherently agree, although I see where you're coming from. I think that in almost all cases, you naturally love your children. However, I made a commitment to myself and my husband that we would love each other to the end, and I expect to work to make that the case. I wouldn't say that my husband or kids would outrank one another, but that both relationships need an equal amount of work. Also, I have to make sure I'm taking care of myself. If I'm not in a good state, I can't expect my relationships to thrive, either. I would expect my husband to support me and Eli me out of those difficult times, but ultimately, there's only so much he can do if I'm not working on myself.

My husband always should and always will, but our baby is totally and completely dependant on me right now. I'm 13 weeks pregnant and somewhat high risk. So, I'm having to choose to take care of our baby and so my body first right now. My husband is a grown man and can deal with it for a while.

This poll doesn't have a definite answer to me because as long as my husband is a wonderful partner and parent he will always be first. We both need to put each other first and support each other in the rearing of our child. In the eyes of our child she needs to see that her parents are a unit and that she cannot break us or turn us against each other. Do not get me wrong my daughter is my world but her dad is my other half and without him there would not have been her.

Obviously if there was abuse or neglect or other awful things then my daughter would always be first!
