Have you tried the Babyscope app?

I just paid $4.99 for an app that uses the microphone on your phone to detect the baby's heartbeat. I read nothing but good reviews on it but I can't get it to work. Has anyone used it before and was successful?

It was a waste of your money. The phones microphone doesn't have the capability unfortunately.  I've tried a few and heard nothing but static.  Get a fetal Doppler instead.

It doesn't work. I fell for it too. The sound you hear will be your own heart. Unfortunately a cell phone mic isn't sensitive enough to pick up a babies heart beat

I had gotten it too with out realizing it says for 20 weeks and over.  I contacted iTunes for a refund.  That app is garbage :)

It doesn't work. Some of them apps have prerecorded hb that plays. I downloaded one and stuck it up against my couch and apparently my couch had a hb lol I have a yardsale page on facebook that I bought a fetal Doppler from for $20 and works great:)

You can get a crappy stethoscope for a few bucks and that works just as well as a Doppler.
