Electronic or Manuel Breast pump ?! FTM

Hey ladies ,

So I'm needing your help. I'm a FTW due 8/20. I plan to Breast feed but unsure which is better. I know everyone's different but I would love to hear your opinions. Electronic or Manuel pump and what brand?

Electric is the way to go. I had both and my manual one took forever, you could only do one side at a time, and it ended up breaking not even a week in. I had a Medela double electric pump and it was awesome. I loved it! Will be using the same one this time.

It depends on how often you will be using it . I have been breastfeeding my twins since they were born and have a manual pump that I used once it a while to leave milk if I would be away from them. I love it because it's portable, quiet and you can use it pretty discreetly. But they are not for everyday use. I am getting an electric pump to use when I go back to work. If you use it everyday the electric pump is good. You can pump both sides at once versus a manual which is one side at a time. Also if you can a hands free bra you can multi task while you're pumping. For me both were good investments, the cost outweighs the cost of formula by a ton!

I had both. Electric is good if you're going to be pumping a lot, like if you are going to work or exclusively pumping. If you stay at home and won't be pumping often, I would say the manual is sufficient. The manual is more portable, less to clean, and quieter.

I am also a FTM. I am getting an electric one from my insurance company, Mandela brand. I also got a manual on clearance at target BC I heard if you are having difficulty with your supply/flow that manual can get it going.
