Should I kiss my best friend?

Me and my friend have been friends for five years. Occasionally he pops the question "what would you do if I kissed you?"  Last night we we're on the phone and he asked "if I tried to make out with you would you stop me?" He had told me he was a little drunk before when we first got on the phone. He says that if we did he would be able to just pretend it didn't happen. But I'm scared that because we have history and I have lingering feelings for him that I won't be able to. So should I kiss him?
