How will you explain an absentee father?

How do you ladies out there plan to explain your child not having a father in their life? Do you plan to tell the truth, lie to spare your child's feelings, what?

I'm going to be as honest as possible. I'm going to be open from the beginning and let him know that mommy loved & loves him enough for two people. I'm not going to talk negatively about his father, but I will tell him he did not want to be a part of his life, but that he's the one who's missing out, not my son.

I'm wearing my "I am your father" Star Wars shirt already... My doctors and friends love it!

Same about telling the kiddo that I love him as much as two people could. And only say nice but vague things about the "father" until the kid can understand where babies come from. And then tell them how I got him in my belly! It was via insemination. Everyone that needs to know, knows. And they are cheering for my family!

This is what concerns and scares me. Right now I'm preparing myself to be a single mom, literally by choice. I was hoping to do it with the woman I loved but like all things that ended. But me wanting my first child by 32 didn't. I'm kinda scared of what would happen next and explaining to my little one why they don't have a dad or extra mommy. But I got two years to figure out what I'ma say I guess. But all I know is I plan to love that little booger.
