Anyone had a foley balloon for induction?

Question

I was induced last time with blue and black cohosh by my midwife. I swore I would never be induced again. I heard about the foley on More of the Business of Being Born, and I told the midwife. She seemed pretty supportive of it. Anyone have experiences with it? Thanx

Its hell. Oh I hated it. My cervix kept moving so they had to get these long midevil tweezers as I call them and clamp a hold...I looked at my Dr and said if u put that in me with out giving me pain meds first I'm going to hit you. Lucky me I got the meds they helped a Lil but but I swear I wouldn't with that on anyone

Oh my word please don't choose to do the balloon. It was one of the worst parts of being induced. Every time my doctor tried to insert it and blow it up I would get a contraction which would push it back out. It was truly a horrible experience that traumatized my husband just by watching it happen. If you choose that route j really hope it's better for you, but I have not heard a good story come out of someone who had it done.

I had one with my second. It was very painful and I wouldn't recommend it. It was just not a good experience for me.

Had it with my first child wasn't bad at all. I'd perfer it then pitocin. I had pitocin with my second child and omg those pains are extremely painful . I might have to get induced with this next baby this weekend and I'm definitely not going with pitocin ...foley ballon all the way

It was fine to me. I had no problems and it fell out when i started dilating myself. There is discomfort but I def think petocin is way worse.
