Trouble figuring out costs?

Is anyone else having a hard time getting a decent estimate on how much everything on the medical side  will cost? Between calling my doctor, a specialist I've been sent to, the insurance, and the hospital..it's all very confusing to figure out what the grand total will be. I didn't realize it would be so complicated:/

Yea! I've called my insurance twice and the first time they told me maternity is covered 100% (so I wouldn't have to pay anything as long as it was a normal l&d) but then the 2nd person told me I have to meet my $1,000 deductible and then pay 20%...
Which one is it, cause that's kind of a big difference!!!! 😬😩

Maybe the third person I talk to will tell me the right thing...

I called my insurance to see what they would cover and how much out-of-pocket expenses I had to pay before they covered at 100%.

My insurance company has a cost estimate tool on their website (you have to be logged into your account so it can determine which plan you have) -- you just select your hospital/doctor and what services you are using and it gives you the total cost for the insurance company and the out of pocket cost for you. For mine, it's going to cost me $500 out of pocket for everything. Maybe call your insurance company and ask them directly how you can estimate your out of pocket expenses. They should be able to give you a range at least.

Your dr's office should contact your insurance and let you know the costs.

I will pay $670 after my deductible and that includes all office visits and my c-section and post partum visits. Labs and ultrasounds are not included.

The hospital bill will be different since I'll have a bill and the baby will too. Then pediatrician visit and anesthesia.
