Breastfeeding & Bottle still not enough??

Question

My son is 18 days old. I breastfeed 15-20mins on each breast and my son still acts like he's hungry so I supplement 4oz of formula well after that he's STILL acting as if he's hungry. I don't know what to do. Does any other mommas experience this?

He may just want to comfort nurse. He might be thing to build your milk supply for a growth spurt. However when your nursing you should allow your baby to continue to do so until they decide they're done. Fequent & lengthy nursing isn't generally a problem. Since youre supplementing, be sure to watch your supply.

Totally normal for such a young baby to cluster feed and/or comfort nurse. In the majority of cases supplementation is not necessary.

He's cluster feeding. Don't give up hope. And try not to supplement. Your body is made to provide baby with everything he needs. He's getting enough milk. It's tough, but worth it. Keep at it, mama!

Just let him nurse until he isnt hungry. 
Babies want closeness when they are that little. He probably just wants to nurse and cuddle. Its good to let her nurse as long as he wants that way it builds a good milk supply.

He might have gas. Or just feed him till he's done. But I know I had a hard time telling the difference between her being hungry and it being gas when she was a newborn.
