Would you wish a kid happy birthday?

So today is my ex daughter 7th birthday. He doesn't see her at all. But I know her mother's number, I've been wishing her happy birthday for about 3 years now. Do you think it would be okay to message still to say happy birthday? ?

My ex has a son, and having been in that situation, I wouldnt. I'm not a part of his life anymore, so I dont see the point of popping in just to say happy birthday. In my situation that'd just make it harder for the kid.

See, I'm a step child. My dad and his ex wife divorced about 5-6 years ago I believe. He didn't want me to have any contact at first, but then he said he didn't care. She did keep contact over the years, but now she really doesn't and I will admit I miss the bond we had, but I know she has her own family to worry about and a new grandbaby. But she would always tell me happy birthday, merry xmas, etc. Now she doesn't do that very often and it hurts alittle. Keep telling her happy birthday, she may want to keep that connection and bond open. I'm almost 23 and it's not the same anymore. :/
