Crazy urine stream during periods.

When I'm not having my period, my urine stream is fairly straight but when I'm in my period, even with a tampon, it's like Niagara Falls. It's all over the place. From the clitoris to the vagina it's all over the place. When I'm not on my period it's just a straight stream and not messy to where I have to use so much toilet paper. Anybody have this problem or is it just me?
