IUD experience

Ma
When I started getting into my later teens my cramps during periods became very very bad, so when I was 17 (almost 18) I got put on low low estrin. I took that for a year but it never really helped with the bad period cramps so I then tried seasonic which was a 3 month pack of pills so I only had 4 periods a year but it still didn't help with the terrible cramps. My doctor wanted to make sure it was endometriosis so I had diagnostic laparoscopy--- no endo. So back to square one. Nothing helped with the cramps so I decided I wanted to try the Skyla IUD. It wasn't a pleasant first month with. I wish I had had more warning about the cramps and spotting. I practically lived on A heating pad for a month and a half. But it's been almost 6 months now and my periods are starting to get much better. Hopefully within the next couple months I will not have anymore for the remainder of the three year period of having the IUD. I really enjoy not having to worry about forgetting to take a pill every day and the concern of effectiveness from taking the pills at different times. I had a very low sex drive while on the Seasonic birthcontrol but I've noticed a change since getting the IUD. Although I have not been very sexually active since getting it. I had a rough start with it but I really enjoy not having to remember the pill or being too concerned about the chances of getting pregnant.
