To pierce or not to pierce...
I'm hoping to get some opinions on how people feel about piercing their newborn's ears. My husband and I have complete opposite stances on it- he's pro-pierce, I'm against.
His mother had his sister's done when they were teeny babies at the pediatrician's office and they still argue "it's just what you do." In my family, it was a privilege you earned, and at a certain age where you were responsible enough to take care of them yourself.
I just feel like it's one more thing you have to take care of at a time when EVERYTHING is so brand new and your life is flipped upside down. Beyond that, I personally don't like the way it looks.
The reason why I ask is because we've somewhat made a deal- our daughter (due in a couple months) will have her ears pierced by the pediatrician at one of her first appointments if I can choose her name (another issue we can't settle on).
I am so torn on what to do!! Thank you in advance :)
