In laws driving me nuts?

Why do my in laws drive me nuts since having a baby? They really do nothing wrong, just are a bit disconnected from what having a newborn is like and they ask the same questions over and over. My MIL asks every time they visit (twice per week or so) if she can stay with the baby while my husband and I go out. It's intended to be nice but the baby is 3 weeks old and doesn't take a bottle. I have no interest in leaving her. I wish she'd stop asking. They also want us to travel to a large family function next weekend and I'm just not ready to have the baby passed around to 20 + family members. I'm tired and still recovering some myself. Am I mean or crazy? Too protective? I'm a first time mom so learning all this...

Not crazy at all. My MIL and I are having so many issues before I got pregnant we were the best of friends now my son is 8 months and I want to move to another state I know she loves her grandson very much but she always critisizes me and questions my parenting skills and let's her daughter who is constantly under the influence hold my babt. I am extremely over protective as well and my husband and I almost separated because of the issues but when I took the time to express to him how I was feeling and my concerns he stepped up spoke to his mother and made MY concerns OURS instead although I still can't stand the lady it's gotten better because of my husbands support I'm sure you're husband will understand if you talk to him about your feelings ❤👌

No you are not crazy. My inlaws have undermined everything I've done with my son because it's not what they did. I tried breastfeeding and couldn't so I'm pumping, they formula fed and don't understand pumping. At two weeks pp my father in law asked why I couldn't make multiple bottles at once. I explained I only get so much at once and he said " oh so you're like a cow" yes I kid you not a cow. I totally understand not wanting your baby passed around. People don't wash there hand or don't use hand sanitizer before touching them. I had a NICU baby and they were supposed to use the sanitizer upon entering and exiting his room at the hospital and didn't understand why since they weren't touching him....and it's the hospital that asked you to. You do what's best for you and baby. You are still healing and adjusting to a newborn. You don't owe it to anyone love. You're mom, you know what's best!

Girl I feel you my in laws were like that but I had to live for them a while and they would tell us to go out and leave the baby but she's breast fed and needs of her parents she was born a month earlier and they always try to act like they're her parents for example we went to another baby shower and mother in law was all over baby and if she coughed she would be like just looking at me to see what I would do and I would let someone carry her and then instead of me getting my baby back she would be like ohh give her to me like you see her all the damn time. People ask me questions about her and she would answer as if she was the mother your not being mean I know it feels that way but you raise your child however you want and if you don't want to leave her with them than don't.. Plus one thing that would make me so mad was that the father in law would say that he wants her to call him dad like wtf she already has a dad and you're not it your the granddad
