My boyfriend is scared to basically get attached to my son and take on that dad roll because he is afraid of getting hurt in the situation. My son father is barely in his life so my bf thinks his dad will just pop up and take over... But my bf wants his dad to step up or he is willing to be my sons dad 100% he doesn't want to be a temporary dad. How can I reassure him that this isn't going to happen idk what to say to him besides that this isn't going to happen.
