Growth scan measurement

Samie • Samie, 22, University Student, Fiancée to Adam, mummy to Lilly Jayne & expecting baba number two in August :)

Hi everyone.

Had my first growth scan today at 28+1.

Baby's estimated weight is 4lb 2oz. Does that seem big to anyone? I was expecting a lot less 😳. What were anyone else's weights around this gestation?

Also, they've marked him down as "descent 4/5" does this mean he's 1/5 engaged, so 4/5 still free or 4/5 engaged and 1/5 still free?

That does sound kinda big. My baby was estimated around 1.5lbs at 28 weeks. She was born at 34 weeks being 3lbs7oz. But the measurements aren't acurate. They could be measuring a pound ahead like the did with my baby.

Girl I really hope they are over measuring for you! Lol I'm scared to have a baby bigger than 7lbs!

I know they're not accurate, still wasn't expecting that weight though 🙊. He's got long legs so hoping that's the reason for the weight haha! x

That sounds really heavy. I think the average for 28 weeks is about 2.2lbs 😱

Yeah I thought that 😱. but my consultant didn't mention about it being big or anything. I'm terrified baby's going to be huge now!
