So on May 17th i started having contractions, I could barley feel them but I knew they were there. I started to walk a lot to speed things up. At first it didn't work at all. So I just went to sleep that night to wake up around 12 having stronger contractions that were 2-4 minutes apart lasting about 40-60 seconds. I called the hospital and they told me to come get checked out. So I stayed home for about another hour and then they got painful (I am a big baby when it comes to pain. Like a little pinch I cry). So me and my SO got everything in the truck and headed there. When I got there she checked me and I was only at 3cm and 80% effaced. By then I was begging for an epidural! But couldn't get it until I was showing progress. I tried the birthing ball and it was extremely painful to sit on. So I just sat in the shower to try and ease them. After about 45 min of sitting I started feeling the urge to push..so I got out. As I was walking out of the bathroom my mom, her boyfriend, my little sister, and my mother in-law were walking into the room. I just waved to them mad said "hey! I need to push but I can't!" They all left the room for the nurse to check me, she checked me and jaunt ran out of the room. By then I was begging for my epidural a second time! Then came all the nurses rushing in hooking things up. The nurse hooking up my iv had a super hard time doing it as I was tensed up trying not to push! She finally got an iv in and then about 10 min later my doctor came in and it was go time! I pushed for about 30 min and I had my little man😊 So as a ftm, I would do it all over again! I was just waiting for the contractions to get worse but they didn't want too! Overall I dilated from a 3 to a 10 in 45 min and then pushed for 30. Without an epidural!!!! I still can't get over the fact that I did it... Harley Alexander, Born May 18th, 2016. 7lbs 5oz 19.5 inches long❤️ he's perfect.
