When did you start to buy things for your baby while pregnant?

I personally wanted to wait until after my baby shower before I stayed buying things for my baby.  and I wanted to know the gender first.  but it's not a bad idea to buy things before hand like wipes or diapers.  breast/bottle feeding supplies, bath time things, children's books, gender neutral onesies....Baby laundry detergent.....stuff like that.

Something to think about is if you're going to buy clothes, buy big. Most people will give you 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes so don't buy those. Buy things that are 9-12 or up because you won't get a lot of those. My hubby and I have been checking out goodwill and once upon a child to get gender neutral sleepers and onesies when they're cheap. It's been a great way to spend a little bit of money every now and than rather a lot once the baby needs it.
