Pumping to help get a strong milk supply?

Im 35wks and just got a electric pump , I heard that if I start pumping now it'll make my milk come in and have a strong supply for when the baby gets here , is that true ? I also heard it can help induce labor so I'm worried about that , is that true ? FTM

I talk to a lactation consultant since I'm a FTM too and was told that your milk will not come in until after your placenta comes out after delivery. You might get more colostrum but that would be it. I was also told it can induce labor not so much because of the pump itself but because it's stimulating your nipples.

It is not recommended to do that!! It won't help your milk supply come in stronger! Yes, it can induce labor. You want to wait until after baby is born to pump, 100%. Feel free to ask a certified lactation consultant.

I think the only thing it will help with is ur nipples. All you will get is colostrum and ur baby NEEDS that. So I wouldn't recommend starting this early.
