IUD?......

Anyone have the IUD after giving birth? I heard it doesn't hurt as much after you have baby and was wondering how true that was? And wanted to hear people's personal stories with getting it post partum?

I just had the merena iud removed yesterday! I got it put in @my6 week check up, so I was still bleeding. Not 1x did I stop bleeding. I was having the craziest mood swings and it made me so cranky and angry! I had my son 3/11/16 and I bled all the way up until 6/1 it's the worst and I wouldn't Reccomended it. But everyone's body is diff.

There are some cramps right after it is being placed because the uterus, a muscle, pulls together. It's a little uncomfortable, but ok. I had some period-like bleeding for about two weeks afterwards and I am still bleeding a bit, but I hope it'll be over soon. Other than the bleeding, I can't feel the IUD at all.

I got an IUD last week, at 7 weeks postpartum. It was no big deal. I mean yes it didn't feel the best, but nothing compared to giving birth. It was a simple procedure that maybe in total took around 10 minutes or less. Insurance covered everything so well worth it. Only down side is if you want to get it out before it expires it will cost you around 200+ out of pocket.

Mine hurt a little bit at 7wks postpartum. The worst part was the numbing that makes your heart speed up it made my knees shake bad the nurse was literally holding them still.

It wasn't bad for me. I don't think one can think an iud hurts after going through labor. Just a few quick pinches and I moved on with my day.

Just felt like a Pap smear, maybe even less then that, after I stood up for like 3 min I stopped feeling it.

I just got mine. Literally couldn't feel it go in. My doctor said it was going to hurt worse than a cervical check but nope! Not for me. I got it done 8 weeks postpartum
