pump & dump?

i was in the er last night & they knew i was pumping & bottle feeding, but for pain they gave me a shot of morphine. how many times- or do i even have to- pump & dump?

Narcotics stay in your system for 3 days. You should be fine. Women are given pain medication while giving birth and are breastfeeding immediately after.

I was given pain medication after my c section at the hospital for pain management aswell as after. The nurses and lactation consultant nurse said it was fine, as I had the same worries. My son was fine.

I wouldn't worry. Like I said woman like myself as well as many others have breastfed while on pain medication for pain management at the hospital and a few days after from having a c section which is considered major surgery.

It's fine. They give morphine after labour while you'll bf. A bf dr told me only about 3% of what you intake actually gets into your supply. People on anti depressants can bf . There's only a handful of medications that you can't take while bf
