Mother in law wants to be involved with a party I'm not planning....help!
My mother in law is a sweet lady. My SO's older brother just had their baby 3 days ago but his wife and the MIL were never the best of friends and didnt pretend to be. My MIL has 3 sons so now that I am in the family ... She is latching on to me. I don't mind her, she is sweet and caring (I do have to put her In her place sometimes when it comes to what I'm eating or how much I'm working) but my baby is my own family's first grandchild. My mom is planning gender reveals and I'm sure she'll have my two sisters, gma and aunts help her with the baby shower. My MIL makes comments like " well I guess I'll just jump in where ever I'm needed..I don't really know what my place is". I feel like these passive aggressive comments are her way of pressuring me to make a plan for her to help but this is my first kid...she doesn't have any daughters and these parties are being planned for me....HELP!
It seems I need to clarify because some other Moms can't see passed their bitchiness!
I have a good relationship w my MIL. What I'm saying is my side of the family is hosting these things without any of my input. I'm literally showing up to the festivities. It's not a bad thing for her to want to be involved. But with this being my first rodeo I don't know what she should be doing because I'm not doing any of the party planning. Hopefully that makes sense.
