What do you think the Harmony Test is?

I will be having the Harmony test (which is a brand name) the test is actually called " non-invasive prenatal testing". The purpose of this test is to check for chromosomal abnormalities. We lost our first to T21 so we will be testing early (at 9 weeks) next time. The reason they also determine the gender is that some abnormalities are associated with the sex chromosomes. You can decide to know the gender or not but that isn't the purpose of the test.
I suppose in the US of you pay for the test out of your own pocket you can use it as a gender test if you want. In Canada it's only offered to women like me or women who have had poor prenatal screening as a further screening test.

The harmony test was originally to check for problems your child may have. Just recently they started checking the gender through it. There's so many people that think it's the gender test and not what it actually is. Its crazy people are more concerned about what's between their child's legs than if the child will have problems. I had the test done not for the gender but to see if I needed to prepare myself and my home for whatever the child will bring. The gender should not be the most important part of the test.

I have mine on Thursday of this week I too lost my daughter to Trisomy 31 on Sept. 30th 2015.

I had a harmony test it tells iu the gender and if your baby had any down syndrome or problems with their spine ect.

I had the harmony test done for my son. I got figure out what were having at 13 weeks and his health. I was extremely blessed with a healthy baby boy. Definitely worth it.
