Unpasteurized cheese?

Just went to a Mexican restaurant and I'm not sure if the shredded cheese on my tacos was pasteurized. Should I be concerned? 😕😕

Any cheese in America is pasteurized unless clearly stated that it's unpasteurized

It's only specific cheeses that aren't pasteurized, and even nowadays THOSE soft and molded cheeses are pasteurized (but still check), such as feta and blue cheese. I don't believe shredded cheese put in Mexican cuisine falls into that category.

You should be fine. Soft cheeses are the ones you should worry about. Like Bleu and Brie
