Would it be dangerous to use a bassinet if I have cats and dogs?

I'm worried about my cats jumping in the bassinet and flipping it over...but the crib won't fit in our room. (It makes me nervous not to have the baby sleeping with us at first)

Bring it home before baby gets here and get animals used to it. My cats don't like the bassinet so I'm not to worried about them bugging baby.

No pets on furniture. . I never agreed with animals on anything I sit or lay on . I think it's unsanitary . If you raise your animals to be on beds and whatnot, expect them to be on anything else.

I second the spray bottle! Our cat kept climbing in the baby crib, and we would catch her sleeping in there. Disgusting!!!! Got a spray bottle and it only took a couple times of spraying her to catch on!

They make canopy things that attach to a bassinet so the animals dont get into it.

I too am worried about the  cats getting in bed with my daughter, and our Siberian husky playing two rough with her.
Like my dad said as soon as a dog decides to bite a a young child in a vicious way will be put down.

I use the Graco Travel Lite Crib instead of a bassinet. It is probably sturdier, its a little bit bigger, and the bed part is still sort of suspended, so you can get an ok rock going if you need to rock your baby. I love it!

Cats hate Vic's vapor rub. Put some on the outside of the bed or whatever is holding baby. Test to see if they get into it when the baby isn't there. My research says they will not.

We are having baby sleep in a pack and play in our room.  Much more stable than a bassinet.
