Bassinet or pack and play ? One of my friend says pack and play is not stable and risky ( she's uses bassinet ) which I don't think is very true . But which one you guys pick ? Bassinet or pack and play and why ?

I've had two kids this is my third, I had a bassinet with my first, but I'd say honestly its a waste of money, they only use it for a very short time and a play pin is perfect safe. I only use a play pin for sleeping somewhere other then home though, my kids a crib trainer. They have slept in a crib since day one. It makes it much easier to get things done.

I used a bassinet w my first born. It worked good. But only for a few months. The pack n play, we used for a year or two. I'm not even messing w a bassinet this time.

My nephew used a pack n play instead of a bassinet and it was super stable he still uses it when they travel, sleeps in a crib now at home. We plan on doing the same thing when the lo gets here.

Honestly we will have both because the bassinet was given to us as a hand me down so we didn't pay for it. It's a bit smaller so it fits in our room better. The pack n play we will have upstairs so that when we are in the kitchen or living room, baby still has somewhere to sleep plus it's portable for when we travel. My parents have used pack n plays with all my nieces and nephews when they stay with them and never had any issues with them as far as stability. My youngest nephew is 16 months and still sleeps in one at my parents house.

Bassinet because I just don't see myself using a pack and play, I'm not gonna be bringing an infant anywhere for the first month at least, and I feel like it takes up too much space.

Depends. Bassinets won't be in use for long as the baby will grow out of it very fast, so it's kind of a waste. I think pack and plays are perfectly safe.

I don't like pack and play only because it's bigger (babies like a small area to sleep in to mimic the womb) and too low down to bend to pick up baby. Also it takes up too much room as I will have baby in my room for at least 4 months. However u will be able to use it for way longer than a bassinet. U can use it as a play yard for many years at least until age 2 or 3 when they can climb out of it. I have both. I don't find the basinett to be a waste of money if u are planning on having more than one kid. I didn't buy an expensive one.

Pack and play is perfectly fine and they don't grow out of them as quickly as bassinet I'm ttc#3 and will be using pack n play if I don't get a 3/4 in 1 crib They even have pack and play's now that has a part for newborn I really like them.
