My weight loss journey
At 18 years old I am 5'2, 263 pounds. By the time I was 4 I was already overweight.. And threw elementary school I remember being in fourth grade weighing 140 pounds. This continued to middle school where I would fluctuate between 160-190... I grew and with puberty I started to proportion out weighing 185 as a freshman. Which even though to some people that is soooo overweight, it looked decent on me. Chubby, but healthy. To me, that was normal.. Considering I was only 40 pounds over weight and not 80 like when I was a smaller child. At the beginning of my freshman year I was around 185 and then got mono (I was sick for about 8 weeks) and was down to 155... This was a milestone for me... The thinnest I've ever been in my life... The closest I've ever been to being "normal" ... Over the four years of high school, I struggled with depression and a lot of personal issues. I gained 100 pounds and have been fluctuating between 240-260 the last year or so. Right now on May 31,2016 I weigh 263 pounds. I have my first appointment next Monday June 6, to begin preparation for the vertical sleeve gastrectomy (a type of weight loss surgery) that I should receive in the fall. I've been trying to get into better eating habits and I even signed up at my local Rec center for the gym. This is a big step for me because it's the first time I can actually say I'm ready for this life change. I've been overweight for years and years but just wasn't ready. And today, I can proudly and finally say I am. If there is anyone else out there involved in the weight loss surgery community, please keep in touch. I made an Instagram account to post my weight loss progress so my friends and family can be a part of it too. Also, so I can be a part of yours. Please everybody follow my page @transformingcorin2016 and show your support through out this life changing journey of mine. I really appreciate all the love and support. Thank you for your time.
