OB or midwife?

I had obgyn with my first two. My first was natural, but very traumatic. My second I was induced and got an epidural, both of which I had bit originally wanted (I was under the impression my ob was going to break my water to get things going since I had been having contractions for a couple days). The pitocin made my contractions unbearable and I had the epidural.

This time, I really would like a natural, stress free, controlled birth. I am going to prepare myself for the possibility of complications, but as long as there is no real reason to induce etc, I want to let my body do what it was made for and my baby to come when he/she is ready. Midwives are more inclined to allow a woman's body to go through the natural process and less likely to push interventions. The really cool thing about my midwife team, is I get to rotate between all 6 of them, which means no matter which midwife is on call, I will already know her and she will know me and my baby's medical history etc.

Midwife because there is less unnecessary intervention. Women were made to have babies and the medical (OB) model (in the US) does not demonstrate confidence in women to do what they were born to do. It revolves around docs and what is most convenient/easy for them

I'll be seen on an AF base so I'll get a mix of OB's, nurse practitioners, and midwives.

OB because I'm high risk and l work in the OR and with L&D, so I like to know the person who potentially could cut on me has some surgical skills.  Plus midwives are used a ton where I live. No disrespect to them at all, they're great but they can't do a section.

I'm seeing a midwife because I don't want interventions unless absolutely totally necessary, and I feel like midwives have better techniques to get through the labor pain. But my office also has an OB that I have to see in case he has to deliver due to complications or premature birth. So I feel safe either way.

OB because when it comes down to it a midwife can't use all the tools available to an OB if there are any complications.

Right now we have the midwives. They care more about you as a person and don't just rush off to the next patient. There are 2 OB's in the office I go to. 1 I cannot understand when he speaks and the other told me I have had a bad experience with during this pregnancy so I will not go back to see him.
