Weakened cervix due to surgical procedures
Hi everyone hoping someone on here may be able to help. Currently 23 weeks pregnant. Been seeing the consultant since the beginning as I've had multiple lletz treatments to my cervix. Although it is shortening it's still within limits so far. Seeing the consultant yesterday he has confirmed I'm high risk of pre term labour and that I can't have a stitch as my membranes would break. He is discussing having regular shots of progesterone to try and stop me going into labour early and if I make it to 32 weeks then shots of steroids for baby. It's finally hit me that I'm actually high risk and now really scared. I have another scan in 2 weeks to see how much more my cervix has shortened and to check it is still closed. Has anyone else been through this or going through this? Has anyone made it full term or as close as possible. He said there aim now is just to try and stop early labour and get me to 37 weeks but there is no guarantee and I could go into labour anytime from 24 weeks. My job is demanding as I'm a regional manager so I drive all over the country all day and now worrying I won't be able to do that but I am the main earner so we can't afford for me to be off work.. Any help or advice is hugely appreciated xx
