Contractions?

Question

Every 7 min for a about 40 seconds pain like period cramps (not too painful, just uncomfortable). FTM so don't know what to expect. Are those contractions?

No harm in getting checked but if they r staying at the same intensity prob Braxton hicks. If over time they start to get more painful then real labor. It won't take ur breath away until ur water breaks but if they r real they will get more intense. Hope this helps it's hard as every labor is different. My first my water broke then I started contracting n pain was in my stomach. Second labor contractions were in my groin/hip/lower back so I wasn't sure what it was went shopping and continued just figuring it was bc I was almost 40 weeks n uncomfortable. N as the day went on they kept getting worse so finally went to labor n delivery and I was 7-8cms and got admitted. Just pay attention to whether or not the pain intensifies

Most doctors say to go to the hospital when they are five minutes apart, so I would just keep track of them.

My dr said if they cause pain, and last more than 40 seconds,for me to watch how close they were and such then go to the hospital if i was concerned. She says there is no need to worry about just going if you feel there is something worth going for. They'll check you out and call her if she is needed.

Sounds like maybe Braxton-Hicks. Go to the hospital when they are 5 mins apart
