How are you organizing baby clothes?

I've racked up on a lot of baby clothes between hand-me-downs and baby showers. I originally planned to hang everything (onsies and sleepers included) but I'm out of hangers and closet space - not complaining, this is a great problem to have.

Here's my question: What are you hanging and what's going in drawers? Would love to hear how everyone (especially all my Type A girls) are categorizing and organizing their baby's clothes. I've already got everything sorted by size - everything newborn to 12 months I'm either hanging or putting in her dresser - 12 mo+ items are going in bins in the attic till we need them. If using drawers, how are you differentiating like items for different sizes (i.e. newborn pants and 6 months pants in the same drawer)?

I did all onesies, pjs, and nightgowns in the dresser. Currently I have sizes newborn and 0-3 months. I hung the nicer outfits in the closet with dividers for sizes. I bought these green baskets that I've since labeled. Each has onesies and pjs for future sizes.

This was such an issue for me. I couldn't decide what to do, but I finally found a system that I like! For now I only have NB-6months out. The rest are in labeled bins in the top of his closet. I'm hanging everything (using size dividers I got from etsy) except onsies and pants. I have a drawer for each size onsie and I just folded them in 4s and used drawer dividers from the dollar tree! I put all the pants in one drawer and labeled the drawer dividers with the sizes. So far I'm liking it and it's easy access!!

I hung all the cute outfits that I didn't wash in her closet, and put her onesies and pajamas in the drawers. I put her short sleeve onesies together, and her long sleeve together. Her bloomers and shirts are in a drawer together, and Her bibs, socks, and mittens are in a drawer together.

Thank you all for your help and ideas! Here's what is ended up doing - hung up her dresses and other "outfits" by size, using size dividers. I put her onsies, sleepers and pants/bloomers in drawers by size (i.e. top drawer is NB to 3 months of all of these items, second drawer 3-6 months, and so on up to 12 months). I got a hanging organizer for bows, hats, shoes, socks and mittens.

My husbands side of the family has lots of kids so I've been given a ton of big garbage bags full of clothes. I've been sorting and labeling and storing anything larger than 3 months. I only hang dresses and outerwear like coats and sweaters because I have limited closet space.

In the dresser- socks, PJs and sleepers, plain onsies, fun onsies (lol). I created little labels in the drawer to organize by size.

In the closet- nicer outfit "sets" by size.

I'm hanging up tops, dresses and outfits and have them divided by size. In the dresser I have onesies and pants. I have all NB stuff in one drawer, 0-3 in a drawer, 3-6, 9mo, and 12mo. I have one drawer for socks and mittens and one for hats. Anything bigger I have in a plastic tote to hang up/put in the dresser when she gets that size. I have plastic drawers in the closet where I keep her shoes. All her bows/headbands are in a basket. Try looking on Pinterest if you haven't already! Lots of good tips on there. :)

I have the 8 drawer ikea dresser. (4 small drawers on top) 0-3 month sleepers In the top drawer. (or current size ) also in top drawers: diapers/wipes in one, lotion/bath products in one, and burp rags and bins in the last. (changing table is on top of dresser) in the large drawers:
1. newborn & 0-3 month onesies,shirts, pants, skirts & shorts 2. 3-6 & 6-9 month sizes 3. 9 months and up 4. swaddle blankets 
hanging in the closet: coats (all sizes that I have) newborn-3 month size dresses. rompers, and jackets/zip up sweaters. I also have bins in the closet for socks, hairbands/hats and baby shoes.

Lol ! Thank you for bringing up my exact problem! Totally type a right here. I hang everything so I can see it all. My idea was to get aircraft cable and string it from one wall to another ( your hardware store has it and IKEA sells it as an alternative curtain rod). It's very durable And won't damage your walls like crazy, it's adjustable and inexpensive. Also, my other idea was to buy an inexpensive 6ft book shelf and rather than putting in all the shelves I'd buy tension rods and put them where the shelves would go and hang the clothing in there with the option of a shelf or two ... I'm getting crafty
