CNA and pregnant?

Question

I am a CNA and lastnight i went to work and it was so physical, i had the hardest assignment on the hardest floor... I am worried sonething might happen, anyone else or any advice?  I am only 3 weeks pregnant.

If that was the work you were doing before your pregnancy, you will be fine. The only thing doctors say not to do is, anything out of the ordinary for your body. If you've never been to the gym don't go run a mile on the treadmill. But women who have been running every day get to run during pregnancy. I wouldn't worry!

Proper body mechanics is what will save you from injury being pregnant or not. I'm a medic 28weeks pregnant this Thursday and still am working. Carrying people up and down stairs, lifting them on the stretcher, carrying my monitor and my first in bag, doing CPR, ect ect. If you were doing it before pregnancy then there are no issues to continue throughout the pregnancy until your due. Sure you'll have bad days and need help, but you will be fine. So will baby.

I'm also a CNA of 9 years and this is my second pregnancy. I worked both pregnancys up till my due date. I've worked at my job for almost three years and have a good relationship with my co workers. I didn't start have a problem till I was about 7.5 / 8 month pregnant with bending over and what not. I unfortunately went per diem so I pick up a lot of third shifts due to it being less active. My co workers are really good about helping me extra! Talk to them let them no and you should be fine ..

I was managing and working the floor at the same time on first shift.  I decided to switch to 3rd shift so it was still possible for me to work and have time with my 5 year old. My doctor was going to put me on bedrest if it didn't find more time to get my feet up on shift.

You will be fine use good body. Mechanics however if you start to spot get a not from your doctor and in the second trimester definitely ask for help or don't do it at all

Omgoodness. You're fine. It bugs me when ppl do a little physical activity or something hard and the freak out.
