What was your C-Section like?

I'm only 3 months along, but scared to death of a c-section and that's all I can think about. I'm pregnant with twins and my Dr advised me it's a higher probability of needing one, now obviously we won't know for certain until I'm much further along but I still would like some insight as to what to expect if it comes down to it.

It wasn't bad. I've had multiple c sections. I do recommend compression underwear after though. Like Bellefit. I tried multiple kinds and this was my favorite brand. It made recovery a lot more comfortable for me.

I was scared of a c-section too and ended up having an emergency c-section. It was honestly not as bad as I imagined it would be. I barely felt anything, except when they were actually pulling my baby out (and even then it was just some weird pressure and tugging feelings). I was in so much pain by the time the doctor said I needed a c-section that it was a relief to get the spinal (my epidural was no longer helping with my contractions). Recovery wasn't too bad, I was very sore and moving around at first was hard. But now I'm two and a half weeks out and feeling pretty decent. Try not to stress too much, when the time comes you'll make it through whatever it takes to get your baby in your arms!

Some women bounce right back and others it's a nightmare for them.. I've had natural births but I've seen family members on both sides have c sections.. it's really case by case but if you freak yourself out its only gunna make it worse.

It was fine! It was scary for my only because it was an emergency... But once the actual operation got going my husband was by my head and the nurses were taking me thru it while my dr operated. It just felt like a lot of tugging really. But you don't "feel" anything. It only took about 10 minutes then my baby was out and in my arms! The only thing that sucked was shortly after I had to rest for an hour alone. But honestly I was so tiered it didn't matter to me then. ( I had been thru 9 hrs of hard labor and a csection) then after that you get a nice 3 day hospital stay with the baby and helpful nurses! :) healing was ok for me! I stopped taking the pain meds before  I ran out of my script... Not necessary. The only thing that bothered me (and this doesn't happen to everyone) but I got a lot of oxygen in my body during surgery and I had a lot of pain in my shoulders. The nurses told me it's like co2 or something... But it goes away in a couple days. That and your organs moving back into place is a weird sensation. LONG story short, I was back to "normal" after about 2 weeks... Maybe less.
